If I be anyone in this life<\/p>\n

let me be a messenger<\/p>\n

let me write beauty on the sky<\/p>\n

let me write a love letter<\/p>\n

so wide and deep and long<\/p>\n

that it turns day to night<\/p>\n

forcing men and women to look up.<\/p>\n

Let me write a reminder of what is great and what is small<\/p>\n

and if my being is not enough,<\/p>\n

if my death is the only reminder of man\u2019s power to take life<\/p>\n

let me die; let this love letter<\/p>\n

exist in memory, born of experience<\/p>\n
