{"id":1525,"date":"2020-03-04T21:36:15","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T21:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lostspeciesday.org\/?page_id=1525"},"modified":"2022-11-29T12:48:03","modified_gmt":"2022-11-29T12:48:03","slug":"2019-events-list","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.lostspeciesday.org\/?page_id=1525","title":{"rendered":"RDLS 2019: Review of events"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Here are a few of the variety of creative endeavours marking Remembrance Day for Lost Species November 30th, 2019.&nbsp; For the full list of activities that took place around the world, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lostspeciesday.org\/?page_id=1434\">https:\/\/www.lostspeciesday.org\/?page_id=1434<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wageningen University &amp; Research, Netherlands: Student participants got to know the stories of extinct animals and plants (Aurochs, Golden toad, Galapagos amaranth), as well as stories of successful species recovery (Spix macaw, Golden bamboo lemur, Hawksbill sea turtle, Rodrigues flying fox, White-backed vulture).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants discussed ways to protect species from extinction, and explored successful examples of such work.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/UrVSI3wMCGXBbN12-Efac8YcZv4rI42-9pMmwGTOT59quv-IvNqpZ4pgjeidy1Q8NHe9OgfQnj0bypPnhNMCugNBSp0NxEQkapQSZKRF2Ir1xps9eic6isIx0D2SiKvISQJEyy7S\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Going, Going, Gone: exhibition and performance event at Articulate Project Space, Sydney, Australia<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poetry reading by extraordinary participants including Uncle Bruce Shillingsworth, Ross Gibson, Amanda Stewart, Clocks and Clouds, Virginia Hilyard, Gary Warner, Noelene Lucas, Juliet Fowler Smith, Simon Champ, Suzanne Bartos and Reject Theatre Group.
